I was "awarded" over 5 grand... My EFC was um, ZERO. I made 19 thousand last year, have two kids and was never on government assistance. Not married.. again my EFC was 0. My "award" letter said "needed 16,000, but "awarded" 5,000. I just got my first check, which was supposed to be 33% and it was 300 bucks. Um.. Im not a math whiz... but thats not a third of 5 grand.
