Why didn't conservatives and Republicans demand 'limited' government during Bush's

Presidency? Why only *now* do they want such a thing--now that Obama is President?

Why couldn't they demand it when Bush was President? Or when the GOP were in control of Congress?

Lower government spending? More freedom?

What happened then?

Why is *now* so important? Why couldn't they done this years ago when their party was in control?
