I have a Gourami and two Tiger Barbs. Today I decided to change the gravel, and within minutes the Tiger Barbs were dead. The Gourami seems okay for the moment. Did I do something wrong?
I used a gravel vacuum/siphon to reduce the water level to about ten gallons (it's a 29 gallon tank). I scooped the gravel out, rinsed off the new gravel, added it, and filled the tank back up. The water was a little cloudy, but I thought that might be normal, as I've never changed gravel before.
I'm *not* having very good luck with fish as pets. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I did wrong that would harm them?
