im experimenting with two wild-caught pilchard fish, a pin fish, a hermit crab, and a small starfish to see if i can keep a salt water aquarium going. just now i came home to find that one of my pilchards has died. it was very skitish and there were scales all over the place. i left the room and when i came back it was wedged in between two rocks that i put in there today, strait from the bay, where i caught the fish. now the other one is jumping around like the first one, and i think it might die like the first one. why are my fish dying? could something from the rocks have killed it?
oh and the pin fish is doing fine. its resting in between the rocks where the pilchard died now.
