Why did my fish die in one day?

I got a 2 female fancy tail guppies (grey one and yellow one) and put them in a 20 gal tank with many males. The males were frequently chasing the grey one around. Then I watched Terminator: Salvation until like 11pm. After that, I looked in the tank and noticed that the grey one had a bigger belly, wasn't chased around by any of the males, and was swimming slowly. I thought she had eggs. The next day, I found her dead. I think it was because of stress, but I'm not sure.
I fed it and only about 3 or 2 males were chasing her.
Oh yeah, and what should I do to prevent this from happening again?
 
The stress may have done her in.....I would have at least put a bigger group of them in, if you have a bunch of horny males. Just put yourself in her position....new home, the chasing,........
