Why did my cigg lighter/ashtray light wires short/catch fire in my 1993 Buick LeSabre?

Hey,
I have a 1993 Buick LeSabre. I went to go to work and noticed the radio wasn't working. I checked all the fuses and noticed the "radio/IP Lights/ Heater" fuse was blown (slot 11). Well, I replaced the 15 amp fuse with another and it blew right away. I replaced it with another, and it did the same thing. Well, not being the sharpest tool in the shed, I figured since we had just put our aftermarket CD player in the car (in place of the factory), it may require a little stronger fuse then what was originally in there. I throw a 30 watt in and everything seems fine; it didn't blow and I was tickeled...Well, about 3 seconds later, I smelled that "electrical fire" smell, and looked up only to see smoke filling my car. I took the fuse out, and everything stopped.

I took out the radio and heater to see what was smoking and found out that 3 wires behind my heater were melted; it's the same 3 that's going to my cigg. lighter and the light about the ash tray.

I got more wires to replace the ones that burnt, and I also got another ash tray light and another connector for the back of the cigg lighter (but not the actual silver cylinder lighter). Anyways, before I replace it all just to have it enflamed again, I was wondering what exactly may have caused the original short, and if I'll be good hooking up my new materials. Thanks for your time, people!

What may have originally blown the fuse. We bought the car 2 weeks ago and everything worked fine, then all the sudden the fuse blows and I go through all that hassle. Why would my fuse have blown in the first place, and since I can replace all the 'burnt parts', would it be likely to happen again?
