I started dyeing my own wool with wiltons food dye and I decided to try royal blue first but as I cooked it three different ways in the sun, in the microwave, and in the oven all three ways resulted in the blue separating some wool took the blue but some of it turned a pink/purple hue. Help what am I doing wrong? I also have tried doing less and more vinegar as well. Is there a better way to dye with wiltons food dye to get a solid color?
