Why did he stop initiating calls and texts?

I am 23 and recently met a guy about 6 months ago I really like - a lot. We live 3 hours apart so seeing each other is difficult. At the beginning he was so talkative and texted and called all the time. Now I initiate everything. I am so discouraged. When we see each other it's so great. We have an amazing time together and it makes me believe 100% he is interested. Then when I go home, he never calls or texts and I get so confused. If I initiate the conversation he's always very talkative back. When I tell him I like him and am interested, he says he is too. So what's with the lack of initiating things?
 
you worry about this to much he just doesnt want to text or talk on a phone and he doesnt want to hound you he says he likes you he acts like he likes you so whats the problem? id leave it alone or you will scare him off
