did not? I've read "Guns, Steel, and Germs" and I agree with most of those points stated in that book (regrettably i was never able to finish it)
But I'm curious on why you think they all developed differently. All seemed to start building great monuments at the same time(with the exceptoin of central and southern Africa), but some seemed to not advance and of course the europeans and asians advanced...very rapidly.
Your thoughts?
In the 1800's Europe had guns, And africa was still playing with sticks >.>
So it was less rape, more hi, we own this now.
Ok, let me put this in less racial terms.
Is it the ideology? Are the more ridged religious structers of the Natives the cause of the slow progress?
I've got to give it to C. I think he was right that the change in climate led to adversity, and when they had to struggle in europe it lead to them being forced to technologicly advance quicker. WINNER
