2007? I was submitting my tax stuff online, and came to the payment thinking it would only be about $30 because of the pricing in the very beginning of the website. When I got to the payment options, they were charging for both the 2007 return, and filing state taxes...so instead of a 30 dollar charge...it was a 60 dollar charge. Needless to say...I didnt file it online. Buying the program and using it on the computer is cheaper, but I thought the online would be. Why do they charge for both??

Uh, because they want money?

In most states, you can efile your state return from the state website at no charge.

same with this alot of online companies. it is done for convenience. The "hidden" charges are what most of the people skip to read in the fine print. Needless to say, the hard copy is the better way to go. The "additional features" are not worth it.
