Why Can't S. Korea just take their drills somewhere else?

I'm not saying the South should abandon the drills altogether. They're obviously entitled to train their military. But why does it HAVE to be on Yeonpyoeng Island? Surely they can just take the exercises somewhere else that won't upset N. Korea, because from where I'm standing, it looks like it's the South who is being stubborn here and it will be their fault if the North nukes them.

It seems obvious to me that the best way to go ahead with the drill while avoiding angering the North is to simply move them somewhere else. So why don't they?
