Why cant people under 18 have sex?

it so stupid if they consent that they should be able to have sex

why is there a law the government cant tell people who can and cant have sex

by the way i dont really care about having sex so no personal attacks :)
 
Age of consent varies from state to state, in some it is 14 but can be as old as 17. The age of consent says that someone older than 18 cannot have sexual relations with a minor under the age of consent, but minors can have all the sexual relations they want with people their own age. This is to keep pedophiles from having relations with younger children.
 
The age of consent varies, usually between 14 and 16 in most states. The law is there to protect CHILDREN. Do you really want your 13 year old child having sex? Do you really think a 13 year old child is emotionally ready for all of the consequences of sex? Just because you have the parts doesn't mean you are ready.

because they are not mentally ready and most women are not physically ready to give birth to a baby, the mortality rate of infants to teen mother's is 70% higher then women over the age of 20.
