Why can't i see the music on my blackberry?

When i connect my blackberry to my computer it appears as a drive not a device. i have a 1gb micro sd card in it. when i sync my BB with BB desktop manager. and i disconnect it. There's no music in the media. I have to go to Media..options explore..show hidden & that's the only way i can see my music on my BB . How do i fix this? please help!
