Why can't I see text boxes outlines in InDesign when they're not selected.

I'm sure I used to be able to?!? I used to be able to see the text boxes, or any box in fact in normal view even if it wasn't selected. It would tell me if text was overset just by scanning the page, now to do that if other tools were not available I'd have to click on every box, I've tried the view options, but can't see to get very far, any advice would be great :)
