Why can't i hold a call and do the 2nd call on Sony Ericssion C510?

Recently i attemped to do the 2nd call whilst holding the other call but i coudun't dot it! Could you help me out guys how to do it! I even tried after activating the call waiting but still i couldn't do it? :(
