Why can't i get a good connection on XBOX Live?

When i play any online game for XBOX that i own, it always is laggy and my latency is in the red zone. It is directly connected to the router and as i type this i am playing. I can get wireless connection just fine but why cant i get wired on XBOX??

Plz help
