Why can't I find my sidebar with vista gadgets?

I used to have them on my desktop, now I can't retrieve them. well i was able to do so yesterday but when i turned my pc off , it was gone again? what should i do?
 
you have probably closed it by accident.

try going in to your control panel, the i think it is under desktop, and then it will have your sidebar menu there, it should say something like show sidebar.

if not try searching it through the control panel.

i think you can also press f1 and you can type in sidebar and i should tell you how to put it back on.
