Why can't economics run in reverse? Who would this benefit more?

CONS ultimately want a system where the employee pays the employer for the privilege of working for them.

But why stop there?

I could be paid by banks to own my home. Paid by car dealerships to own my car. Paid extra to feed my family. Paid to get that new boat. Paid for a PS3. On and on....

Before you laugh, running economics in reverse can be very telling about the circularity and sustainability of an economic system. If the economy is a one way street, it is doomed to failure every time and it will never fully recover without hitting the reset that amounts to a mass wealth redistribution anyway.
Tell you what. You stop corporations from engaging in this practice, and I will stop promoting the paid consumerism. What I want to see is corporations paying people what they are worth, I want to see them grant partial ownership to employees both of the material and ideological assets of a company (which employee worked to achieve both directly and indirectly) and I want to see all exploitation of employees end.

You can't do it can you?
Sure you do Uncle Pennybags: do not pass go, do not collect 2 hundred.
BTW JP, I can sum yours up in one word: Greed. Economics = institutionalized greed to your average con.

Thank you for this illuminating display of how the Liberal mind grasps economics. I think you've done more to explain the Liberal thought process in this one post than I could have accomplished in 10 pages.

Your point about Conservatives wanting employees to pay them for the privilege of working is absurd, of course. But let's assume it's accurate. Even if that were the case, it would still be only half of the equation. For their side, employees want their employers to pay them 100% of the money the business brings in. It's the balance between these two, conflicting "wants" that establishes the market clearing price for labor. (Or anything else, for that matter) The employer will always pay the least amount possible for the level of talent, skill and commitment needed to do the job. Employees will always seek the highest pay they can get for their services. So why is it that the Employer is always the bad guy in this scenario? It's the free market. That's what drives it and that's what makes it the most efficient system possible.
