Have an outdoor cat (feeding for 2 yrs) that came to the house limping a week ago----few days later still limping staying close eating but less---lured the cat into lanai --saw that the left hind paw was blown up and and at vet 104.6 temp ---got him to the vet surprisingly---vet put him on inject antibiotics---saw a nasty something on his pad i believe it is----cant lance it for some reason---slightly purulent but seems like it closed. Why cant the wound be opened....vet said if there was something in it it would be draining more. anyway---still at vet monitoring. As it sounds the wound closed over and cannot be lanced as said above...why?
why cant a paw/pad wound/abscess be lanced?
