Why can i not play 2 xbox 360s online on my knology high speed internet?

I have xbox live memberships on both game systems,and a router running my ethernet cables to my 360s,when i play one at a time,it works great but when i try to sign in online with both game systems,it will only let one at a time play,i had comcast high speed before i switched to knology,and on comcast i have had 3 xboxes online before with no problems. my internet speed is 384 up and 6 down
They offer a higher speed called edge,but 384 and 6 should be enough.
And when one xbox is online and you try to sign on xbox live on the other xbox it says to check your connection and will not let it go through............PLEASE HELP
