I thought about taking the LSAT just to see how I do, I have no desire at this time to go to law school. I see all over people claiming they increased their LSAT score from a 150 to a 168 with practice. I find this hard to believe because if it were that easy to boost your LSAT score everyone who applied to law school would be acceptated in one of the top 20 law schools. You would have to be an idiot to keep a score of 154 and get in a tier 4 lawschool if you could easily inflate it to a 167 and get into a top school. Does this mean all the law students not attending a top 20 law school are idiots for not studying hard for a month before they took the LSAT because they would of got a 165+ no problem if they simply studied harder?
Another thing even if I could cheat my score up by learning the test would I even be able to survive Law School at a school that is really out of my league? What is the point of trying so hard to get into a very tough school if you know to begin with there is no way you could survive the rigors of that elite law school?
I would rather take an LSAT with very little test prep and get an average score and get into a law school I can graduate from with a J.D. then to try to inflate my test score to a very high score and get into a Law School that I just flunk out of the first year. Why try getting in a really tough law school you will end up just be dismissed from because you were not really smart enough to go there to begin with?
I have no desire to go to law school I just think a lot of future law students are setting themselves up for failure by setting unrealistic goals and not being honest with themselves.
