Why blame the union workers for GM failures?

I agree the union workers at GM were not reasonable in there demands. GM workers were getting paid 100 grand a year for there pension even if they retired early. That just too much they would still live pretty good with a 60 or 70 grand a year pension. Its the people on top fault for approving these deals. The company was just not profilable enough to give these deals. Its like giving a CEO a bonus when they are doing a bad job which GM did as well.

My point is not that the union benefits bankrupted this company that alone would'nt do it.
The union workers are not the reason why honda and toyota out sold GM. Its the management at GM for selling cars people don't want. These people on top are almost delusoinal. They claim that people want big cars, that use a lot of gas when gas prices were high and that people wanted a new car every year so that is why GM cars don't last very long. That is the opposite what americans want and is why companies like honda and toyota did better then GM in so many ways.

Its time to stop blaming people on the bottom for what management has done to there own company. In the end they cut deals with the unoin. In the end they sold cars no one wanted. Same goes for the natoin its time to stop rewarding rich people when they do a bad job. I think raising taxes 4 percent on the rich to pay for there mistakes (Yes i am gerneralizing) is reasonable. If you look around a lot of the corruptoin starts on top.

Can't we all agree right or left that the fault of GM's failure was management bad decision after bad decision? Those bad cars and bad deals with union don't approve themselfs.

You know what GM acutally has done better under obama but that is a different question all together.
union can't force you to do anything. They don't have legal authority. The people on top had the opportunity to say no anytime.
Companys that are making money like toyota and honda have the money to do these things if they wanted to but GM doesn't because the people on top were crazy and sold cars no one wanted.

you make a good point but my point was GM was just really bloated in all aspects of the company.

As for the figures I stated that is for retirement not there yearly pay. It did come from a conservative but its one of those things that so outrageous its hard to beleive they can get away with lying about it.
You guys are missing the point. Its not the beneifts they gave to the unoin were the reason why the company fail its because the car they made no one wanted. Them giving such crazy deals to the unions is an example of how illogical the people on top were its not the unoin benefits that caused the company tank.
