What impact would removing guns from society make? You act as if war wasn't even invented until the gun.
There are some people out there that will commit crimes, regardless of having access to a gun.
Is it not true that if you were to remove every gun from this world, the rates of crime with other weapons would significantly increase?
If I were a violent sociopath, and I wanted to hurt someone... Who cares if they took my gun? Find a knife, rock, shoelaces, fists, etc.

Actually the guns available to civilians are hardly enough to pose a threat to the missiles, jets, tanks, etc. at the government's disposal. However, we have numbers in our favor. Look at current events to see just how effective molotov cocktails and stones are against government.
