Why baby cries in swing and car seat?

My almost 4 mo baby boy starts crying in a swing after a few minutes. He also hates car seat and screems in a car. But he likes the bouncer. Why is it?

He prefers the movement of the bouncer and he can entertain himself in the bouncer. Do you place him in the swing, then leave the room (but stay with him when he's in the bouncer)? The baby bouncer is very pleasing to many babies, as is the swing, but I think the bouncer is more preferable for most children. I've read that any motion a baby goes through is good for the neurons in their brains.

As for the car seat, he's just going to have to get used to it. Try positive association with the carseat. Leave him in the seat for a couple of minutes and build up slowly (obviously you won't be driving). He'll outgrow it soon. If you really have to take him some place, try soothing music, nursery rhyme CD's, you singing - anything he seems to enjoy. Play the CD in the house too, so he gets used to it.

Good luck!

Because babies this small don't know how to self-sooth and he wants to be held.
