Why aren't political debates designed as actual discussions that can come

to an agreement with logic? Also, why do politicians spit so much rhetoric? Also, what's wrong with elitism? Also, why don't politicians ever explain how their policies would work? Isn't that elitist?
 
Politics is opinion not fact. Two different opinions won't reconcile unless someone admits they a wrong. Someone who admits they are wrong does not qualify as a politician.

Debates are not supposed to resolve issues, they are to present arguments for different sides of an issue. That is why courts have a jury and/or judge to decide who wins.

Commitees are supposed to argue and resolve issues.

Do you know what a camel is?
