Today is my birthday and I turned 31 years old. Should my birthday be special? Back when I was a kid, my birthday was so special. Today I still had to work on my birthday and my co-workers and boss wished me a happy birthday but however, they still made me work and not let me slide off the hook. I tried to talk to my one co-worker who was talking to someone and I said: "I am going to have a cake and open up gifts today." And she ignored me and gave me a weird look and snapped saying: "I AM BUSY! PLEASE DON'T BOTHER ME! GET BACK TO WORK!"
I was really in shock by that. I mean, isn't my birthday supposed to be all about me?! Its ridiculous! Why are my co-workers and supervisor still acting the same as any other day? I would think I should get a gift from work or get sent home with pay or even a reward because its my birthday! Back in school, I got special attention when I was younger and as I get older, birthdays aren't as fun anymore! Why is that?
