Why aren't my fish laying eggs?

Over the space of 4 years, we've had about 8 combinations of fish in the same bowl, with up to 3 in the bowl at the same time (3 of which died due to some sort of fungal disease). I'm assuming we're not buying JUST female fish so I'm wondering why we haven't had any eggs. Our bowl is medium sized and round. We clean the tank about 1-3 times a month. We haven't got any plants in the bowl, just a holey rock. The bowl does go very murkey in a short space of time sometimes. From what I can see, the fish haven't got any white spots on there gills.
Thank you! (:

Find out first if they are egg laying fish or a livebearer. If they are live bearer then probably there a chance that they already eat there fry before you see them.
Or if they are egglaying fishes, then theres a high chances of eating there eggs, especially that they are in a very small container.
There also a chance that they are not laying eggs at all because they are infertile. Try to change partners to find out which is infertile.
If there is a female that carry eggs, you can see that it had a well rounded belly. Before they lay there eggs, they go into mating ceremony...the male chased the female then the female lay her eggs and the male fertilizes them with semen.

I thought this with my fish but turns out they were laying eggs.

the only thing is the other fish eat the eggs, take 1 male and 1 female and put them in a small tank separated with glass when the females abdomen is bulging with eggs put them together and the Male will frantically chase the female, this is normal so don't stop it. the female will drop the eggs as the male fertilises them as soon as this happens take the adults out and put them into a normal tank. hope this helps

Few things will reproduce in sub-par conditions.,keeping any fish in bowl will not induce them to spawn at any level. Each and every type of fish have different needs before spawning. unlike humans, they don't just get together and do it. instinct tells them when its the right time to reproduce amd if the enviourment is not correct, they will not waste energy they need to survive to reproduce.
I would suggest doing some research on the fish you want to keep and then trying again. But doing the correct way this time.
