Why aren't muslims featured in History/Social Studies?

So I am muslim and it really really makes me mad that it is not required to learn about muslims, in History books and Social Studies (Social Science.) And in Ancient Civilazition books there is rarely a muslim mention! Okay, theres some mention in Egypt, Israel, etc. but there is nothing, is specifically taught about muslims. I'd love to learn about more about my own culture during class rather than stick to learning about everyone BUT muslims. Even if they mention muslims, the writers don't have their facts 100% straight. For example, the Israelites had many prophets but there's not a single mention, 'sfar as I know of it being the "Bani Israel" or children of Israel.

Anyways with my anger out,
Does anyone here at Y! Answers know why it is not a California standard, or any states standard for that matter, why we don't learn about muslims?

Most detailed/informative gets the grand 10 points!

I would like to know too. I always wondered why they didn't include muslims. i think when i was young i asked my mom about i dont remember her answer. (homeschooled since 4th grade and now in 11th)

go home to your country of origin and study there if you want to learn about muslim culture. this is america, and america is not a moslem nation, and if american were buddhist or muslim, you would hear less of christianity too, right? go back to your syria motherland and you will have lectures about christians as the evil people, so everything is regionally bias I guess, so stop being angry, go take a deep breath and sleep.
