Why are women so double standard?

i dont know if thats the term im looking for but what i mean is why do women seem to be so double standard like they fought for equal treatment which is in everyway justifiable but Example one: my friends girlfriend got mad at him because she thought he was cheating on her with her bestfriend her reason of thinking this was he didnt come home the night b4 and her best friend had started acting shy around her an being quieter then usual that day so instead of investigating it an finiding out that the night she was questioning about he was actually with me and we were playing pool in my basement and her bestfreidn was going through something of her own she just walked right up to him and punched him in the face while he was talking to me and said "thats for f*c*i*g lexi you bastard!" he was shocked and his nose was bleeding but he controlled himself and asked her "wut the he!! is she talking about he didnt touch lexi" she then replied by hitting him like crazy shouting "liar liar!!" i tried to step in and ended up getting hit also a number of times my bestfriend (brad) finally got tired of it and grabbed her hand just as she was about to punch him again and pushed her on the couch she jumped up and started trying to attack him again so he eventually pushed her off of him a little harder then he probably had intended and she fell backwards and hit her head on the wall giving her a headach and now hes in court for domestic abuse the guy has a broken nose and several bruises and all she got was a headache and they didnt even notice her they just ordered him to two hundred hours of community service and put it on his record HE HAS A RECORD NOW i feel so bad for him later on she finally found out that her best freind was PREGNANT and thats y she was acting rely weird lately and that brad DIDNT cheat on her at all and so she pretty much ruined his life. Seeing that whole ordeal made me reflect on how the ourt system is so corrupt its like women fought for equal treatment but they got pretty much the right to do anything they wanted if a girl hits a guy in the face its no big deal but if a guy hits a girl in the face he can be looking at YEARS IN PRISON how is that equal? an women will encourage there freidn to check their bfs fb page and then get super mad at their bf if he snoops throught their page how is that fair? i see women all the time telling there friend they should check their bfs phone or myspace page or fb page to see who hes talking to and snooping through there bfs business but if the guy does it to the girl its A HUGE DEAL i just dont think its right women can dish it out and cant take it but call themselves equal?
