I've been reading the engagement and wedding announcements in my local paper, and they all seem really pretentious! They seem like a cold run down from the brides parent's on the couple's accomplishments, and nothing about the couple themselves!
They always seem to read 'The bride graduated from this school and works for this company, the groom graduated from that school and is employed by that company.'
Why aren't engagement announcements more like 'The couple met 3 years ago, they love traveling together and can't wait to start a family!' I went to college and have a good job too. But when I tell the world about my engagement I'd rather it be about me and my husband to be, then my career.

Like look at that form! Why the job and school info? Why not a paragraph that says 'tell us about the bride and groom, how did they meet, when will they have the ceremony?'
