A) By the end of the 19th c CE the religions began to become more predominant than before.
B) By the end of the 19th c CE it became clear that just about all of the most important things in life could NOT be proven in a closed system.*
C) By the mid-1950's after the alien invasion of the earth starting in Roswell, NM, it became clear that humans are completely unenlightened.
*e,g, See Godel's Incompleteness theorems or Alfred Tarski’s work regarding truth in formal systems
@Creation: glad you enjoy facetiousness ; )
Hint: Of the three options, the answer is clearly NOT "C". (It's an odd commentary on the state of the discussion in R&S to think that a person would write choice C as a serious answer.)
