Okay, so I live in central Maryland and last night (Sunday, April 26th) we had some of the most severe weather I've ever seen (very heavy rain, high winds, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and a small tornado 5 miles north of my house). Also, there was ping pong ball sized hail (the biggest I've ever seen). I noticed that it was foggy, cool, overcast, and breezy all day (a high of about 62-63). These conditions didn't seem very favorable for severe weather, so why was the weather so bad last night? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
