Why are there two different tire sizes on my BMX bicycle?

I recently bought a Dave Mirra Black Pearl 3 (2009) and I'm wondering why the front tire is bigger than the one on the rear.

Front tire: ODYSSEY/AITKEN, 20 X 2.125

Rear Tire: ODYSSEY/AITKEN; 20 X 1.90

I want to buy new tires and I'm wondering if I have to put the same tire size with the new ones or does it not matter?

P.S. I'm thinking of buying Animal GLH-R Folding Tires from Dans comp but the smallest size is
20 X 1.95. Would this tire fit my Black Pearl 3?
