Why are there so many BP defenders in here?

good luck with that, Obama hired a shitload of corrupt people . (did he have a requirement that you COULDN'T pay your taxes if you wanted to work for him ???)



Honestly, corrupt people are just drawn to politics. Where else can you get a shitload of money for doing nothing ? And you don't even have to be the boss's son, you can be a distant cousin or friend of the person in charge and get a nice cushy job somewhere and no worries about being fired.
 
Cutting corners and increasing the risk of a fuck-up is a world of difference from fucking up deliberately.

BP took a calculated risk. They figured if the worst case scenario happened they could handle it (of course counting on the BOP to deal with most of it.) so they pushed the line of safety and procedure to the point of fucking up thinking they could handle the fuck up.

They knew what they were doing. The fact that the BOP didn't work is beside the point. They were very willing to take the risk anyway.
