just wondering why packs for backpacking/trekking are designed based on gender. is it solely based on body/torso size? or are there other things that are factored in when companies design them (like bone structure, or whatever)?

(by the way, i'm really just looking for technical information. if you have baggage for the feminist movement generally, can you please take it somewhere else? thanks.)
