Why are there no good guitar solos in new rock?

It's only in metal songs, I have never heard a decent guitar solo in any modern indie song, alternative song, or any other type of contemporary rock song. Why?

Who else thinks that Rebellion (Lies) by arcade fire would sound great with an outro guitar solo?
