It no longer matters that Obama was opposed to this war; it no longer matters that McCain supports this war and acts as if his little "surge" was the start of the war instead of the actual 2003 start date. Whether or not we should pull out of Iraq is no longer a matter of debate simply because the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri-al-Maliki, has publicly stated on several occasions in recent months that they want all coalition forces to start a withdrawal! When a government of a sovereign nation tells you its time to go, it doesn't matter if you think you should stay. This back and forth about the dems being accused of retreating or the repubs being accused of continued occupation ambitions is a moot point. If a foreign military has base operations here.. for any reason whatsoever in the realm of hypothetics, and we said it was time to leave, how would we feel if they said, "we'll leave when we're ready"? Your thoughts?
