His German ancestor is his sixth great grandfather thats 9 generations ago, and that makes him less than one percent German!!!!

Why are we even mentioning Obama's supposed "German ancestry" after all he has very little of it.

Not to mention the fact that Obama did not even know about this ancestry, why does it matter?

Is everyone just trying to carve a piece of Obama...it seems a little ridiculous now....

My 5th or 6th great grandfather was Scottish, I knew we had Scottish ancestry according to my Old Man, but I never CLAIM to have Scottish ancestry, blood, or to "part Scottish" because it sounds absurd.

To me Obama is just an American..an African American, then more specifically a Kenyan American and also a European American and mrore specifically an English American (he's 37% English after all)...

What do you think?

Obama German?

Me Scottish?
Do you think people are just trying to claim a piece of Obama just because he's made history? Some African Americans strongly resent the way European Americans try to claim us after we are successful......

Mate , every person on this planet are descendants of africa.

We are all from black tribes .... what about that , part german part greek , does not matter , we are all homosapiens

I have French ancestry further back than that, but I claim it. Actually it's all pretty silly because biology doesn't recognize political boundaries. Back when my Frankish ancestors became "French" they could just as easily have been Alsatian/Carolingian. My Dutch people could have ended up German. Truth be told, while you can fractionate your origins into equal parts based on the contributors, there's no way to actually tell how much of one or the other makes up YOU. It's not like we're all smoothly blended and measure out. It's all a stew and when the genes hook up it can dish out more of the potatoes or carrots.
