why are some kids that look weird considered as "NERDS"?

I have this friend and he has a red hair, and he is short, with freckles on his face; he also knows almost every scientific word; everybody calls him a nerd... is it because he is smart? 0r because he just looks like one???
 
Look at my Avatar....and know that I am the oldest nerd you'll ever see in this lifetime. They call him a nerd because he is studious, meaning he likes to study. If you like him, don't let anyone steal your nerd...If he doesn't study then the term nerd does not fit....that leaves only one conclusion, everybody else who calls him a nerd because of his looks are the real stupid ones.....why? because you and I know that if someone looks stupid and ugly they are called a FREAK..!.....and as you grow in life you will find out that most of everybody is IS stupid.......and that freaked me out when I leaned that .......
 
who cares, there lame. so what if he knows every scientific word, atleast he knows them. I think red heads are so cute lol.
but they prob call him a nerd because of both.
 
Its a stereotype! Just like all blondes are dumb and stupid stuff like that. Your friend sounds like he is a nice guy and going somewhere in life and the other kids don't like it so they pick on him! Poor guy! yes it probably is because of his looks and brains but who really cares what anyone else says cause their just stupid!
