I'm always seeing these little jabs at education and college and university here...
What I don't get is that they'll make claims that cons are better ducated than libs on the whole (i.e. more college degrees, etc), and then they'll rail against education as evil liberal brainwashing. Soooooo where are all these degrees that go to well-educated conservatives coming from?
I mean, do you think that all the freeways and bridges you drive on were built by illiterate farmboys? Do you think that chemotherapy was developed by a high school dropout in his basement during his spare time working at a hardware store? What gives? Why is education bad?
Just all these comments about liberal professors, or idiotic teachers, little sayings like "those who can, do; those who can't, become teachers." My dad was in the military for three decades, got three degrees, fought in a war, raised a family, and is an English teacher; does that mean he "can't?"
Please educate me.
To the poster who plans to start a computer repair business, and to an extent to maj as well... I'm in school for medicine. I severly doubt that your gross yearly income from owning a computer repair business will eclipse the $140-160k year starting salary I can expect to make as in internalist. If I choose to specialize in one particular area, I can expect to make well over 200k after residency.
I identify as a liberal all around, and if the salaries of doctors were half or a third what I can expect I'd still study it for the sake of helping human beings, not out of my own self-interest.
