Why are politicians, and the U.S. media, so soft on Rush Limbaugh?

It seems to me that in a sensible society we should hear more voices of outrage against the venomous language and demagoguery of a Rush Limbaugh. Every time I hear him rant I think of Joseph Goebbels.
 
Who is going to fall for this con? Politicians and the liberal media go after Rush Limbaugh more than anyone else. Rush Limbaugh is in full support of the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
