...in the description? I think it's just plain stupid that they are allowed to sell broken consols on ebay
So I could Sell a ripped ipod case as long as i say its ripped?

Because if they don't then that is fraud, and fraud is a felony.

People want to buy all sorts of things no matter what condition it is in, just as long as they know about it first.

A lot of people buy broken consoles for parts. If you needed a new disc tray what would you rather do? Pay $50 for a new tray from Sony, or pay $30 for a broken PS2 and take the tray out?

Some people also buy them to fix them. Cheaper than buying a working one, after all.

eBay is nothing more than a worldwide garage sale. It's full of things, both broken and working, and there are people who want to buy both. If someone WANTS to buy something that's broken, and the seller specifically states that it's broken, why do you have a problem with it?

Some people (like me) love to fix up or use broken electronics for parts. To us nerds, there's nothing better than fixing something that's been declared worthless.
