Why are people in the financial sector such huge snobs?

They are the worst people I've ever met. Most of them are snobs and go into the industry expecting to pay themselves a lot for doing nothing. They are hardcore Republicans solely because they are greedy and don't understand what a social contract is all about. They're scared to death of all the bad areas in town, yet don't understand how they are responsible for much of the poverty in America

I took a friend of mine apartment hunting when he found a financial job in my town and he was so immature and picky. A leasing agent in an apartment community had a small, tasteful tattoo of someone's name on her shoulder, and he went on a big rant about how the place wasn't professional and how he wouldn't live in section 8 housing, paying his rent and someone else's rent. I'm like, this is an apartment complex, not Goldman Sachs, and that the lady was nice and just fine. He saw a couple of black kids and freaked out even more.

All he could talk about was how he hoped he could get out of my town after a couple years and get a job paying $100-200 an hour. I was wondering how I ever ended up being this dude's friend in the first place.

I can see how these dudes keep paying themselves billions in bonuses. It would do a world of good if the financial and health care industries were brought into line. Both are overpaying themselves and destroying America's economy.
