Why are my oil and O/D light on in my 02 Jeep?

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty that i've had for almost 2 years. A few weeks ago, my oil light came on, but it only lighted when I drove for more than 15 minutes and when I dropped down below 20 MPH. I got my oil changed, but it's still coming on. What does this mean?

Also, this morning on the way to work I noticed a light just came on that said O/D OFF. What does that mean? Is this a huge concern?

First your oil light problem..It sounds as though you may have an oil pressure problem. Assuming that your oil level is correct its sound's like a weak or failing oil pump. As you drive and the oil heats up it becomes thinner accounting for the 15 min. drive before your light comes on and when you slow down engine RPM drop's reducing oil pump pressure. I would strongly recommend that you have a mechanic check your oil pressure with a gage.
You can turn the over drive on and off in a Liberty I think the switch is on the gear shift you may have inadvertently bumped it off.

alot of Jeep Wranglers have problems with the oil pressure sending units. Mine peridicly goes to zero oil pressure you have to unplug the connector and re plug it in. If you just had your oil changed and you have seen no leakage you are OK. O/D refers to the overdrive function of your cars transmissions. See when you go faster then 45 it comes on to save gas its no big deal it comes on and off automatically. You can actually turn your overdrive off if your gonna be off road or driving in town.

oil lite means low oil pressure...can be low oil but if full its a bad oil pump or clogged up engine...usually from not enough oil changes...without oil pressure the bearings will wear out and engine will fail....od is transmission over drive..look for button on shifter or on dash

Oil light on means you have little to no oil in your car, check your fluid levels, if its on you shouldn't be driving.

O/D is overdrive nothing serious, most likely you hit the button to turn it off, it should be on the gear shifter or on the dash (I'm not sure where with Jeeps)
