heres what I started with one year ago:
55 gallon freshwater tank, 1 goldfish
4 mollies, 3 dwarf gouramis, 3 cory cats, (I think thats what they were) and 1 pleco. They all lived great for about 4/5 months. Then one by one they have died.....NONE having the same symptoms as another. I have seen, pop eye, ich, tail rot, tumors, fungus, velvet, something unidentified, just sudden death with no symptoms, and now the latest is dropsy. I am down to just the gold fish and pleco...those were the only 2 fish I had when I 1st started the tank 7 years ago, I have 1 molly left...thats who's got the dropsy, I always isolate my sick fish. What the heck is going on? Heres the water quality:
NH3 >1
NO2 approx. 0.3
NO3 approx. 20
total hardness arround 60-80
alkalinity 140
ph 7.4
some added salt, not brackish.
tried lots of different foods trying to help...no difference, great filterization, temp stays around 78-80 (kinda warm for the goldfish but he's lived with it for a long time and doesnt mind) , have not found medications that have ever saved a fish...and Ive tried! As near as I can tell I am doing everything right. What is wrong with my tank?? These deaths have happened over approx. 8 months...and ALL different symptoms!! Please help!

i would contact your local vet or even the petstore in which you got your fish...it could be thatyou have had bad luck with the fish you bought and not your tank water
