Wild Toddler Twins

I see a growing trend within my playgroup and with facebook friends who have children ages 18 months - 2 years, starting them in pre-school.
These are Moms who are stay at home Moms with no jobs, and their child has no developmental or physical delays.
When I asked them why, they mostly all said it was to give the child a healthy start to school.
Why would an 18 month - 2 year old need to start school?
I am talking JUST turned 2 for the 2's also...not about to turn 3.
Most pre-schools start at age 3 but select few now start at 1 or 2.
Why is this necessary?
highnlow, I think so too...
I personally think it is WAY too young to be sending them off to school.. There are so many things you can teach them at home and by taking them to the zoo, park, science center, etc. So many videos you can use with your child with flash cards to aid learning. I would feel like a real bad Mom if I sent off my 2 yr olds to school.
