I mean look at the pay scale. the exchange between both dollars is 1.06 so it isnt big at all. For having such a "crappy" army riding around on horses and such, Canadian soldiers are payed pretty good.

basically, a CF private starts off at around 30,000 whereas a US E-1 starts off with less than 20,000
