Why are I losing my identity?

Is this an unusual problem? Twice on successive nights, after synching using the USB cradle, I have tried another synch a bit later and the user name part of the synch indication on the computer has been blank. So it just hangs and the only way of stopping the T3 part of the synch is to do a reset.
The only way round it is to hard reset the T3 and it then asks me what name to use and picks up the original user name.

I've seen Personal Firewalls and Antivirus software cause these issues if they've had recent updates to them.

It might mean a reinstall of the desktop software.
