I have an Alienware M17x with two GeForce 260m graphics cards, in addition to the integrated 9400M, but I've always wondered what to do if, say, one of the cards fried itself. (It has me worrying sometimes, it can get so hot.) Is it possible to buy replacement mobile cards, or perhaps simply to upgrade? Most use the same mobile PCI variant, the MXM pin array, and you'd think that there would be a market for this type of thing, so why does it seem that the answer is no? Are just too many graphics solutions completely integrated, so this consumer base is too small to notice?
The only place I can find which seems to be on this topic is www.mxm-upgrade.com, which I'm not even sure is legitimate. Any insights?
Thanks, this has been stumping me for some time,
