Why are football players not as proud of their national anthems as rugby players.?

At the cup final yesterday only a couple of players from each side bothered to sing their own anthems, and even then were only mouthing the words.I've noticed this in international matches too. Contrast this with rugby players (from Wales, England,Scotland, Ireland, South Africa,New Zealand,Australia....) who sing their anthem with pride and the emotion really shows on their faces. I wonder why this should be.
Dave J...good point about yesterday's game but this also happens in internationals.

Was the english anthem played? I heard the welsh and the british anthems but the english was missing somehow
 
Because they get too much money for the little they do.
Rugby players play for the love of the game and get no where near the money footballers get some have other jobs.
Footballers get paid far too much money its not about the game anymore its about money and fame its obscene the money they get!
 
At the cup final a lot of the players were not British, so we can perhaps forgive them for not singing. What we can not forgive is the English national side who do not sing the anthem. There either to lazy or to well paid to be bothered, or it's the way they have been brought up, they have no pride in there country. If they all sung it might help them play as a team, sing in harmony play in harmony.
